Great gatherings don’t need a reason. They need an invitation of the perfect beverage.
Sun Curr: Sparkling Juice Beverage
The best gatherings aren’t planned perfectly. They’re the ones where someone pulls up a chair and stays awhile. Sun Curr was created to celebrate the everyday moments that bring people together.
Sun Curr is a contemporary Southern sparkling beverage brand built around hospitality, connection, and everyday gathering. The challenge was creating
a visual identity that celebrated Southern culture without relying on familiar stereotypes, nostalgia, or alcohol-centered branding.

My Role
Self-initiated brand concept. I developed the brand strategy, creative direction, visual identity system, packaging design, and launch assets to create a complete beverage brand experience.
Creating a Modern Southern Perspective
When people think of the South, they often picture familiar symbols: countryside landscapes, wraparound porches, hospitality, and generations of tradition. For Sun Curr, the goal was not to recreate a nostalgic version of the South, but to reinterpret those feelings through a contemporary lens.
The brand was designed around the idea that Southern hospitality is not defined by a place or a specific aesthetic. It is defined by the act of making room for others.
I focused on the next generation of hosts: the people now organizing family gatherings, backyard cookouts, brunches, and game nights with friends. They are carrying traditions forward while creating new ones of their own.
Sun Curr needed to feel like a natural part of those moments: a beverage that could sit at the center of the table, bring different generations together, and give everyone something to enjoy.

Designing Flavor as an Experience
The flavor system was designed to feel like an extension of the Sun Curr world. Rather than creating names based only on ingredients, each flavor was developed as a character with its own sense of place, personality, and connection to Southern gathering moments.
Inspired by familiar scenes, natural landscapes, and the warmth of shared experiences, the names invite customers into a specific memory before they ever take the first sip.
Porch Light Peach captures the feeling of slow evenings and conversations that continue after sunset.
Sunday Citrus reflects the comfort of weekend gatherings, shared meals, and traditions passed between generations.
Backyard Blackberry brings to mind casual cookouts, outdoor moments, and the joy of gathering without a special occasion.
Golden Hour Pear represents those quiet moments when a simple day becomes something memorable.
Garden Walk Guava introduces a sense of discovery and freshness while still feeling connected to the welcoming spirit of the brand.
Together, the flavors create a collection that feels less like a product lineup and more like a series of invitations to gather.

Visual Identity + Packaging:
Building the “Pull Up A Chair” World
The packaging system was created to transform Sun Curr from a beverage concept into a brand experience. The goal was not only to create a visually appealing can, but to design a product that felt like a natural part of the gatherings the brand celebrates.
Each can label combines the warmth of Southern hospitality with a contemporary visual language through thoughtful typography, fruit-inspired illustrations, and a sunlit color system. The design balances familiarity and freshness, allowing the brand to feel welcoming without relying on traditional Southern stereotypes.
The flavor illustrations bring personality to each variety while maintaining a cohesive family system across the collection. Every flavor has its own visual identity, but together they create a recognizable shelf presence that feels connected to the larger Sun Curr story.
The Outcome
Sun Curr transformed a beverage concept into a complete brand world centered around hospitality, connection, and everyday celebration. Through strategic positioning, naming, packaging, and visual storytelling, the brand became more than a drink — it became an invitation to gather.
